Cancer treatment can make it hard to keep up with school and friends, but you shouldn’t have to miss out. That’s why Canteen’s Robots Project helps rangatahi aged 12-18 stay connected to their classrooms, schoolwork, and peers—even while undergoing treatment.

Be in class
From Anywhere

Through our innovative Robots Project, you can attend your classes in real time, see your teachers, participate in discussions, and even catch up with friends during lunch breaks—all from your hospital room or home. School isn’t just about learning—it’s also about friendships, routine, and feeling included. The Robots Project keeps you connected, making it easier to return to school when you're ready.

Simple and interactive
Experience

Using a Kubi robot and an easy-to-use app, you can control your view of the classroom, engage in lessons, and stay part of your school community with just a few taps on a tablet or computer. The Kubi robot connects to a tablet (iOS or Android) and is controlled remotely through a web browser. It works with Zoom video calls, so you can see and hear your class in real time. You can move the robot’s view up, down, and side to side, letting you look around and take part in lessons. Kubi is lightweight and easy to move, so your teachers and classmates can set it up wherever you need.

Connecting in
The classroom

“We had a great lesson with the young person joining us via the Kubi Robot. She 'sat' next to her friend and they were able to connect and talk over the work they were given. The students were very supportive and happy that she was able to join us!" - Daniel Ting, Teacher
